Sit down my soul and rest in him
O mind, stop now your racing
My light right now is growing dim
And truth, I am not facing

Weary and lonely my life has become
Empty and unsought I feel
Beating and beating just like a drum
My heart just needing to heal

The spark and flames are no longer there
The passion and spirit are gone
this feeling I have I can no longer bear
My faith has slowly withdrawn

The tears in my eyes don't stop there flow
My body is shivering and shaking
My feet are stuck, they no longer go
My arms are stiff and aching

I question what has gone wrong with me
I'm filled with anger inside
I wonder why I can longer see
The answer is simply: pride

O Jesus! dear Jesus, please change my life
Please humble my heart from within
Jesus! O Jesus! rip out my strife!
Let your goodness replace all my sin.
